1. Introduction

Welcome to Rolled ("we," "our," or "us"). As a college-focused social platform, we are committed to protecting your privacy while connecting you with your campus community. This policy explains how we collect and use data when you use the Rolled mobile application (the "App") and website (rolledapp.com).

2. The Data We Collect

  • Identity & Campus Data: Name, university/college verification details, student status, and profile information.
  • Contact Data: Email address (typically .edu emails) and phone number for verification.
  • Content & Media: Photos, videos, and comments you post. Note on "Unrolled" (Anonymous) Posts: While these posts appear anonymous to other users, we retain metadata (including IP addresses) to prevent abuse and ensure safety.
  • Location Data: If you use our "Activities" feature, we collect precise location data to show relevant campus events and check-ins. You can allow or deny this permission in your device settings.
  • Device Data: unique identifiers, IP address, and device model to ensure account security and push notifications.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Campus Connection: To verify your student status and place you in the correct college community.
  • Safety & Moderation: To monitor both public and anonymous content for bullying, harassment, threats, or Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), ensuring a safe campus environment.
  • Activity Coordination: To facilitate event creation, ticketing, and attendance tracking for campus activities.
  • Service Improvement: To analyze usage trends and improve app performance.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • Service Providers: Cloud hosting (e.g., Supabase), media storage (e.g., Cloudinary), and analytics providers who support our infrastructure.
  • Legal Authorities & NCMEC: If required by law or to protect user safety. We have a zero-tolerance policy for CSAE content, which is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and appropriate legal authorities.

5. Your Rights & Choices

  • You can request a copy of your data or deletion of your account via [email protected].
  • You can opt-out of push notifications and location services via device settings.
  • You can block or report other users directly within the App.

6. Data Deletion & Retention

You have the right to delete your account and associated data at any time through the "Delete Account" option in the App settings.

What happens when you delete your account:

  • All profile information, media (photos/videos), posts, comments, and social connections are permanently removed from our active databases.
  • Messages and chat history are deleted.
  • Your anonymous identity and associated "Unrolled" posts are permanently de-identified.

Exception: To maintain the safety and integrity of our community, any reports you have submitted or reports made against your content will be retained for moderation and legal purposes. However, these will be anonymized and disconnected from your personal identity once the account is deleted.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for college students. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13. High school students or prospective students must be at least 13 to use limited features.
